We are thrilled to be in the lovely little port of Havre de Grace at the northern and fairly freshwater area of Chesapeake Bay. We took a bit of a quick tour of the village and we are definitely heading back for more this afternoon. We did school this morning, sorted out communications issues and Scott did a battle with the head.
We are at a mooring at Tidewater Marina which has an excellent marine store and they've ordered parts for the head and the blower that went on the engine.
We've met some friendly folks here and discovered the best used and rare bookstore ever - so fun to browse. Lisa is still working at mastering the dinghy and outboard but at least it's providing some amusement for those strolling the docks.
We can now check out our email at marr@cablerocket.com and have also temporarily suspended our cell phone number due to the astronomical fees for U.S. service with Rogers. We've gone with a Net10 phone with a U.S. number fwhich is pay as you go as well as a Verizon wireless stick (still need to get it fully functioning) that is also pay as you go. It's only good for the U.S. and it's limited but it's so darn handy for the blog, email, banking, research, school, weather and so on.
Lisa has some work pending (!!!!) with the Spec and we still have a few other jobs.
We definitely need to spend a few days here to enjoy ourselves and start to relax into the cruising lifestyle we so wanted to experience. There are just a ton of places to explore in this beautiful body of water and we can't wait.
